Accommodation & Facilities

Room Functionality & Layout

Each room can have a specific focus or treatment purpose to maximize space usage and provide a tailored experience for your patients.

Optimize Bed Placement

Bed Spacing: Ensure that each bed has enough space around it for the therapist to move freely and for patients to feel comfortable and not cramped.

Privacy: For treatments requiring privacy, you can add partitions or curtains to give patients a sense of seclusion, especially when performing therapies like abhyanga or shirodhara.

Ventilation: Good airflow is essential in an Ayurvedic setting. Ensure that each room is well-ventilated, whether through windows, fans, or air purifiers, to keep the air fresh and calming.

Creating a Healing Environment

Aromatherapy: Use essential oils or Ayurvedic herbs in the rooms to enhance the healing environment. Scents like sandalwood, lavender, or frankincense can help with relaxation.

Lighting: Soft, natural lighting is ideal. If that’s not possible, consider using warm-toned lighting to create a soothing atmosphere. You might also add salt lamps or candles for a tranquil, grounding effect.

Patient Comfort

Bedding & Linens: Ensure the beds are comfortable with clean, high-quality sheets and blankets. Ayurvedic treatments often involve oils and herbal pastes, so having soft, absorbent towels or linens available is important.

Temperature Control: Keep the rooms at a comfortable temperature for your treatments, especially if the room requires steam or if patients are undergoing intensive therapies.

Hydration Station: Have water or herbal teas available for patients to hydrate before or after treatments.

Flow of the Clinic

Reception Area: Your clinic should have a comfortable and welcoming reception area where patients can fill out forms or relax before their treatment.

Staff Efficiency: Consider the flow of staff between rooms. Keep treatment areas organized, with a dedicated space for therapists to retrieve oils, herbs, and other necessary equipment without disturbing patients.

Storage: Ensure there’s plenty of storage space for your Ayurvedic oils, herbal remedies, linens, and other supplies. You might want to include cabinets or shelves in each room that are accessible to staff but discreet enough not to clutter the space.

Additional Services or Amenities

Yoga & Meditation: If possible, create space for yoga or meditation sessions, either in the multi-purpose room or by dedicating an area for these activities. Ayurvedic treatment is holistic, and incorporating movement and mindfulness can enhance the overall healing process.

Retail Area: You might also want a small section to offer Ayurvedic products like oils, herbs, teas, or wellness items for sale. This gives patients easy access to recommended products they can use at home.
